The University of Wollongong is an Australian public research university in the coastal city of Wollongong, New South Wales, approximately 80 kilometers south of Sydney. It came into being in 1951. The university has nine campuses in Australia and began the University of Wollongong Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in 1993. It ranks #162 in the QS World University Rankings 2024. University of Wollongong came at #186th position in Best Global Universities.
Scholarships reward and encourage students who have demonstrated excellence in areas of academia, leadership, community and sport. It also committed to providing support to students experiencing financial and other educational disadvantages through equity scholarships and grant programs.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarships students must:
- enroll in any UOW undergraduate course in 2024 (Australian campuses only) – this includes honors degrees commenced the year following completion. Excluding; Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise Science and Rehabilitation, Education, Social Work, and Psychology.
- be an international student
- have excellent results in one of the following categories:
- Australian Year 12 or equivalent international secondary school qualification;
- Foundation Studies programs approved for direct admission to Bachelor degrees and offered at an institution recognized by UOW;
- Diploma or other academic pathway program approved for admission with credit exemption from an institution with which UOW has a formal agreement;
- Academic programs (including Bachelor degrees) approved for admission into Bachelor degrees and offered at an institution recognized by UOW
- not receive any other scholarship, sponsorship, bursary or discount
- Achieve a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 50 for each session of enrolment
Note: This scholarship will be issued to eligible students with offers from 5 September 2023, for students commencing in 2024 and beyond.

Eligibility
International students will automatically receive the Country Specific Bursary when they choose to study a coursework degree at the University of Wollongong commencing in 2024 and beyond.
If a student holds an academic package offer and the main offer is one of the eligible degrees, the bursary will also be applied to the other academic course within the package.
Students can only receive one (1) UOW scholarship, sponsorship or bursary for the same course.
Note: The bursary will be applied to eligible offers issued from 6 September 2023.
Joint UOW – HEC Pakistan Scholarships
UOW has an agreement with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to jointly support doctoral scholarships at UOW for Pakistani students.
Successful applicants will be provided with a UOW-HEC Scholarship which provides a living allowance of $19,000AUD per annum and a Tuition Scholarship for up to 4 years. In addition, HEC will pay a return international airfare and Overseas Health Cover (OSHC) for up to 4 years. Please direct any enquiries to the Graduate Research School.
