Western Sydney University Scholarships for International Students 2024
Western Sydney University, formerly the University of Western Sydney, is an Australian multi-campus public research university in the Greater Western region of Sydney, Australia. The University of Western Sydney (UWS) began operation on 1st January 1989. Western Sydney University ranks #234 in Best Global Universities. It also comes #=375th in the QS World University Rankings 2024. Western Sydney University holds 301st place in the World University Rankings by Times Higher Education and has an overall score of 4.0 stars.
Western Sydney University offers a range of international student scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The university provides $20 million in scholarships every year. Scholarships are granted on academic achievement.
Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships
Benefits | Fifty percent (50%) of tuition fees per session for full time enrolment for the duration of the degree up to a maximum three year. |
Duration | Three years maximum. |
Programs | Any CRICOS registered undergraduate degree. Note: excluding the Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Physiotherapy. |
Criteria
- Be an international student and not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, or permanent resident of Australia.
- Commence a new program of study in 2024
- have received an offer of admission to Western Sydney University
- Satisfy the academic requirements for the scholarship, i.e., achieve a minimum ATAR of 90 or equivalent in a completed higher secondary study.
- Satisfy all other admission requirements and accept their admission offer by the acceptance deadline.
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia
- study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University
- currently enrolled at Western Sydney University and apply for a scholarship for their existing program of study
- are seeking to make an application for advanced standing for their program before or after enrolment
- do not apply to study at Western Sydney University and acceptance by the closing date
- are applying to study a program located at the Sydney City campus
- Have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organization that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.
Application period

Western Sydney International Scholarships – Undergraduate
Benefits | $6,000 per year contribution towards tuition fees (up to 240 credit points or three years maximum) or$3,000 per year contribution towards tuition fees (up to 240 credit points or three years maximum) |
Programs | All CRICOS registered undergraduate degrees excluding Doctor of Medicine, Master of Research and Higher Degree Research programs. |
Eligibility
Scholarships are granted on academic achievement in a completed Year 12 qualification or equivalent recognised by Western Sydney University for admission.
- be an international student and not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia. If your visa status changes to one of these during the study period, the scholarship will discontinue
- commence a new program of study in 2024 for the first time
- be applying to study in a CRICOS registered undergraduate degree program
- satisfy the academic eligibility requirements for either the $6,000 or $3,000 multi-year scholarship
- satisfy all other admission requirements and accept their admission offer.
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia
- a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University
- currently enrolled at Western Sydney University and apply for a scholarship for their existing program of study
- are seeking to make an application for advanced standing for their program before or after enrolment
- do not apply to study at Western Sydney University and acceptance by the closing date
- are applying to study a program located at the Sydney City campus
- Have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organization that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.
Application period
Scholarships will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis until filled.
Students are advised to accept the scholarship as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.
Sustainable Development Goals – International Undergraduate Scholarship

Criteria
- submit a complete application for admission at least two months before the session commencement date
- be an international student and not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia. If your visa status changes to one of these during the study period, the scholarship will discontinue
- commence a new program of study in 2024
- have received an offer of admission to Western Sydney University
- satisfy the academic requirements for the scholarship, i.e., achieved a minimum ATAR of 90 or equivalent in a completed higher secondary study

Application and selection process
Separate scholarship applications are not necessary. The consideration for new applications to the University will be automatic for a scholarship.
