Scholarship offerings provide total fee-paying international students with various opportunities to go towards living and study costs. The University of Tasmania scholarships offer comprehensive financial support and an allowance of AUD$ 31,500 per year (2023 rate). It Offers fully-funded research Masters and Doctoral degree scholarships to domestic and international students. Applicants worldwide are eligible to apply for the University of Tasmania scholarships for international students.

Tasmanian Access Scholarship

This scholarship covers 15% of registered tuition fees for the duration of study of an eligible course for applicants from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam commencing in 2024 .

Value5% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of the course.

Eligibility

  1. Be classified as an International Student as defined under the Application rules of the University of Tasmania.
  2. Not be a student from a Transnational Education (TNE) partner affiliate with the University of Tasmania.
  3. Be a citizen of Bangladesh, Nepal, *Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka or *Vietnam
  4. Must be studying full-time in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree
  5. Not be commencing at the University of Tasmania through an articulation agreement with a partner institution.
  6. Be commencing the first year of your program in 2024.
  7. Not be in receipt of a full government funded scholarship.

For students from Vietnam and Pakistan, the TAS scholarship is only available if you are commencing in Semester 1 2024.

Apply

Students get automatic assessment upon submission of their International Student Application, so there is no need to apply separately. Offer letters will notify applicants if they have been awarded the scholarship.

Tasmanian International Scholarship

Value25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of the course.

About the Scholarship

  1. The Tasmanian International Scholarship assessment depends on academic merit and provides eligible commencing international students with a 25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of their course.
  2. All international students who submit an International student application to study for an undergraduate degree (except the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Dementia Care, and AMC Seafaring courses) will be automatically on the assessment list for the TIS Scholarship by our Admissions Team.
  3. Applicants get an automatic assessment for the Tasmanian International Scholarship when submitting their International Student Application. Selection for this scholarship will be based on academic merit achieved in studies at secondary, diploma, and degree level courses.
  4. Applications are assessed for all semester intakes, and selection for this scholarship will be based on an applicant’s highest level qualification before commencing their intended study program (minimum one-year duration). Please also note that qualifications and grading scales can vary significantly from country to country.
  5. Offer letters will notify applicants if they have successfully been awarded a scholarship, provided final results have been submitted. Successful TIS recipients will find details of the Scholarship terms and conditions inside their Offer, which they must read carefully. Please note that this scholarship is only available to commencing students. International Scholarships will not reassess current students based on their academic progress at the University of Tasmania.

Family Alumni Bursary

The Family Alumni Bursary provides international students who previously had, or currently have a parent, brother or sister studying at the University of Tasmania, with a 10% fee reduction on the registered tuition fees for the duration of the course.

The bursary is available for the Foundation Studies Program, undergraduate degrees (including an Honours year) and postgraduate coursework degrees.

Eligibility

Students must be able to demonstrate that they previously had, or currently have a parent or sibling studying at the University of Tasmania. This discount also extends for students who have more than one brother or sister, who has or is studying at the University of Tasmania.

Apply

Students must submit a Family Alumni Bursary Application to be on the assessment list for this discount. Students must also attach the following certified documents together with their application to demonstrate eligibility for the Family Alumni Bursary:

  1. Applicant’s Birth certificate (Original and English translation)
  2. Sibling’s Birth certificate (Original and English translation)
  3. Passport (bio-data) page for Applicant
  4. Passport (bio-data) page for Parent
  5. Student ID cards or evidence of enrolment
  6. Adoption Evidence (only required if applicable)
