The University of Technology Sydney is a public research university located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The university was founded in its current form in 1988, though its origins as a technical institution can be traced back to the 1870s. The type of scholarship available to you may depend on your country of citizenship, achievements and preferred degree. The majority of scholarships do not require an application. UTS Undergraduate Tuition Fee Scholarship

Overview

This Scholarship began to attract commencing international students enrolling in an undergraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Remain an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, or permanent resident of Australia)
  2. Be a citizen from Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Macau SAR, South Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, or a country in Latin America, Africa, South Asia, or South East Asia.
  3. Commence full-time studies and on campus at UTS in 2023 or 2024
  4. Meet UTS admission criteria for the selected UTS undergraduate degree course.
  5. Must have completed an Australian Year 12 or UTS-recognized high school studies comparable to an Australian Year 12 and be admitted to UTS based on this qualification.

Must not:

  1. be based in Australia (must be based offshore) prior to commencement at UTS
    1.  studying a UTS online degree or distance mode degree
    1. be a recipient of other UTS International scholarships or grants or the UTS Alumni Advantage Program for the duration of this Scholarship; and be a government-sponsored student.

How to apply

UTS International will automatically consider all commencing international students meeting the eligibility criteria and applying for an undergraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney for this Scholarship. There is no separate scholarship application or documentation in addition to the requirement for the coursework application.

Undergraduate Academic Excellence International Scholarship

Overview

To attract high performing commencing international students to enroll in an undergraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Must be an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, or permanent resident of Australia) and
  2. Must have done an Australian Year 12 or UTS-recognized high school studies comparable to an Australian Year 12 outside of Australia and be admitted to UTS depending on this qualification; and
  3. Must meet all admission requirements for the selected UTS undergraduate coursework program and
  4. Must be commencing full-time time study at UTS on campus (Sydney). On-campus studies include face-to-face and online (remote) learning applicable to all degrees except online degrees and distance mode degrees; and
  5. Must not be studying a UTS online degree or distance mode degree.

Selection process

Academic merit in an Australian Year 12 (ATAR rank without adjustment factors) or UTS recognised high school studies comparable to an Australian Year 12 qualification for entry into the selected UTS undergraduate coursework program.

UTS Vice-Chancellor’s International Undergraduate Scholarship

Overview

This Scholarship began to support high-achieving commencing international students enrolling in an undergraduate program at UTS in Sydney and the scholarship is available to international students who exhibit the University’s core values and can demonstrate commitment to excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and social justice.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. be an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, or permanent resident of Australia); and
  2. meet all admission requirements for the selected course by the closing date of the scholarship application; and
  3. commence full-time studies on campus (Sydney). On-campus studies include face-to-face and/or online (remote) learning applicable to all degrees except online degrees and distance mode degrees.; and
  4.  completed an Australian Year 12 or high school studies comparable to an Australian Year 12 outside of Australia no longer than three (3) years prior to commencing at UTS and be admitted depending on this qualification to UTS
  5. have an overall average of 85% where the pass mark is 50% or equivalent in a UTS-recognized high school qualification; and
  6. all applicants must apply using the UTS online Scholarships Application form to be eligible; and

Must not:

  1. be a government-sponsored student; o
  2. studying a UTS online degree or distance mode degree, or
  3. Be a recipient of another UTS scholarship for the duration of this Scholarship.

Selection process

The Scholarship is available to the applicant with the highest rank on the basis of academic merit in the academic qualification used as a basis for admission into the selected UTS Bachelor’s degree program coupled with the applicant’s response to the questions asked in the UTS online scholarship application. There is no separate scholarship application or documentation in addition to the requirement for the coursework application.

UTS Foundation Studies Scholarship

Overview

To award high achieving commencing international students completing the UTS Foundation Studies at UTS College, Sydney, and enrolling in an undergraduate program at UTS. The scholarship is available to international students who exhibit the University’s core values and can demonstrate commitment to excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and social justice.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Must remain an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and
  2. Must complete a UTS Foundation Studies program undertaken at UTS College in Sydney with a minimum overall GPA of 8.5 out of 10.0 and no fail; and
  3. Must meet all admission requirements for the selected UTS undergraduate course
  4. Must be commencing studies full-time and on campus (Sydney) in a UTS undergraduate degree in the next available intake after completion of the candidate’s Foundation Studies program. On campus studies include face-to-face and/or online (remote) learning applicable to all degrees except online degrees and distance mode degrees.

Must not:

  1. be studying a UTS online degree or distance mode degree, or
  2. be a government-sponsored student; or
  3. be a recipient of another UTS scholarship for the duration of this Scholarship.

Selection process

Applicants who get the highest GPA will get into the UTS Foundation Studies program completed at UTS College in Sydney.

Where there are multiple applicants with the same results, further consideration will be given to the answer to the following:

  1. Motivation to succeed in your chosen UTS degree program, as demonstrated by the Scholarship application; and
  2. Commitment to utilize your UTS degree to help your community, as demonstrated by the Scholarship application.
