The University of Ontario Institute of Technology, often known as Ontario Tech University and Ontario Tech, is a public research institution in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. The institute began in 2002. Ontario Tech University ranks #1121 among the world’s best universities. It is ranked 601 overall in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The University has a 70% acceptance rate.

Hold a four-year honors undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, or a related area, or its equivalent from a recognized institution. The minimum overall academic standing of a B (GPA: 3.0 on a 4.3 scale or 73 to 76 percent)

Ontario Tech University Scholarships
Global Leadership Award (application-based)
If you are an international secondary school student entering an undergraduate program at the university on a study permit and are currently studying outside of Canada, you can apply for the university’s Global Leadership Award (GLA). The GLA is one of our most prestigious entrance awards.
Valued at $72,000 ($18,000 a year for four years), the GLA recognizes international secondary school applicants with strong academic and leadership abilities. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not eligible for the GLA.
The deadline for the Global Leadership Award is Wednesday, February 15.
International Leaders Award (ILA)
If you are an international secondary school student entering an undergraduate program at the university on a study permit and are currently studying outside of Canada, you may be eligible for the ILA.
The ILA is an entrance award that recognizes high-achieving international students entering an undergraduate program at Ontario Tech University.
Valued at $10,000, this one-year scholarship will be awarded to eligible students who have applied for the Global Leadership Award. A maximum of five will be awarded.
To be considered for the ILA, you must have submitted your application for the Global Leadership Award by the deadline of Wednesday, February 15.
Awards of Recognition
These awards recognize the academic accomplishments of recent Canadian secondary school graduates. If you are an international student who studied at an on-shore secondary school in Canada, you may be eligible to receive an award. The following amounts are automatically awarded in your first year based on your best six 4U/4M courses (or equivalent).
$4,000 – 95 percent or higher
$2,000 – 90 to 94.9 percent
$1,000 – 85 to 89.9 percent
