The university has five Gold Coast, Nathan, Logan, South Bank, and Mount Gravatt campuses. The university gets its name after Sir Samuel Walker Griffith, twice Premier of Queensland and the first Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia. Came into existence in 1971, Griffith began operation in 1975, introducing Australia’s first degrees in environmental science and Asian Studies. Griffith ranks highly as a young university, ranking 46th in the 2023 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. It ranks #243 in the QS World University Rankings 2024.

Griffith University offers a generous range of scholarships to support international students coming to study in undergraduate, postgraduate, research, and pathway programs. We also provide scholarships to encourage and support family members of Griffith students and alumni.

Eligibility

  1. Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
  2. Have a minimum GPA in previous studies of 6.0 or above on a 7 point scale or equivalent.
  3. Have received an offer to study at Griffith by the scholarship application closing date.
  4. Satisfy all academic and English language entry requirements for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program.
  5. Be a full-time student starting in 2024, 2025 or 2026.

How to apply

Follow these steps to apply and we will let you know if you have been successful.

  1. Apply to study an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at Griffith University.
  2. Once you have your Letter of Offer, apply for the scholarship by the closing date (see below). You will need to include academic records and a personal statement.
  3. If you meet all the eligibility requirements, a University panel will review your application.
  4. We will let you know the outcome of your application.

Terms & conditions

  1. Griffith University academic and English language entry requirements apply, including previous study results and English language proficiency.
  2. The scholarship applies to undergraduate coursework tuition fees only.
  3. The scholarship covers 50% of undergraduate or postgraduate coursework tuition fees only for the duration of the program on meeting the ongoing enrolment requirements. The course duration is present as the program length of the first-degree program as stated in your letter of offer minus any credit received for the previous study. Each deduction will be applied by the census date of each relevant trimester of the program.
  4. Students must be International Fee Paying to qualify for the scholarship and each scholarship deduction. Any change from International Fee Paying student status will result in the scholarship being no longer available.
  5. This is a competitive scholarship, and scholarship numbers are limited. When the limit for scholarship acceptances has been reached, the Griffith International Scholarship Office will advise applicants that all available scholarships have been awarded and the scholarships are withdrawn.
  6. Excludes students enrolling in Higher Degree Research, online programs (campus = online), non-award, Study Abroad Programs, Masters Qualifying Programs, MBA, Graduate Diploma of Flight Management, English language programs at the Griffith English Language Institute, programs that are only available part-time and programs delivered onshore or offshore in collaboration with a partner organization.
  7. Deferral of scholarships is not permitted.
  8. Recipients of this scholarship are expected to be profiled in Griffith University’s marketing activities.

  2. Have a minimum GPA in previous studies of 5.5 or above on a 7 point scale or equivalent in the most recent recognised qualification.
  3. Satisfy all academic and English language entry requirements for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program.
  4. Be a full-time student starting in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  5. Excludes the following programs: Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of Dental Health Science, Doctor of Medicine, Master of Dentistry, Master of Pharmacy, Master of Speech Pathology and Graduate Diploma of Flight Management.

Application dates

We recommend you apply for undergraduate and postgraduate programs by:

  1. 31 January (to start Trimester 1)
  2. 3 June (to start Trimester 2)
  3. 30 September (to start Trimester 3)
