Vice-Chancellor’s International High Achievers Scholarships (VCIHAS)

About the scholarship

CDU offers a limited number of scholarships for international students who have a record of academic excellence and high achievement.
The scholarship is neither transferable for cash nor refundable and is not transferable to another person, semester, course or year.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicant must apply to commence study in S1 or S2
2. 2024 (the intake they are available first)
3. Applicant must meet the University’s academic and English language entry requirements for their chosen course
4.  must have a minimum overall score of 95% in their highest completed qualification
5. Applicant must be an international student paying international student fees
6.  must not hold another scholarship from an Australian or foreign sponsoring agency

Selection Criteria

1. Overall score in their highest completed qualification
2. Supporting statements (up to 600 words) outlining why you should get a scholarship.

Duration

The duration of the Scholarship is the minimum time in which the course can be completed or when one of the following is true:

1. The maximum Scholarship value has been exhausted
2. You have completed your course
3. You no longer meet the ongoing eligibility of the scholarship

Ongoing Eligibility

In order to retain the scholarship, the recipient must meet all the following:

1. Continue to be an international student liable for international student fees
2. Pay their portion of the tuition fees on or before the payment due date (first day of teaching) of each semester
3. Maintain satisfactory academic progress each semester with a minimum GPA of 5.3 and with no fail grade in any unit
4. Maintain a full-time enrolment of 40 credit points (0.5 EFTSL) each semester or have the approval to reduce their study load or take a leave of absence for the semester

No separate requirement of application for this scholarship.

2023 ELICOS Scholarship

Applications

No requirement for an application. The assessment for applicants is automatic after submitting their application for an eligible course.

What you’ll receive

The scholarship applies to the ELICOS course and covers up to 20% of the tuition fee.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicant must apply to commence study in 2023 for an ELICOS course
2. Applicants must meet the University’s academic and English language entry requirements for their chosen course
3. Applicant must be classified as an international fee-paying student
4. Applicant must not hold another Australian or other government sponsorship agency scholarship.

Terms and Conditions

1. This award is exclusively for new international students.
2. Applicant must apply to commence study ELICOS in 2023
3. Applicants must meet their chosen course’s academic and English language entry requirements.
4. Only international fee-paying students who pay the entire global tuition fee are eligible for this scholarship.
5. The scholarship is only available to the ELICOS program for the duration studied in ELICOS and is deducted from gross tuition fees upon enrolment. The scholarship can only be used if a required deposit is provided and no cash alternative is available.
6. If students wish to defer their entry to the CDU International College programs to 2024, the scholarship will not be automatically transferred. However, the assessment of students will be automatic with the new scholarship scheme for 2024 when it’s available.
7. Students must fund their education themselves.
8. The scholarship is neither transferable for cash nor refundable and is also not transferable to another person, semester, course, or year.
