About University

Exeter, Devon, England, United Kingdom, is home to the government academic research institution known as the University of Exeter.

St Luke’s College, Exeter School of Science, Exeter School of Art, and Camborne School of Mines, its forerunner establishments, began in 1838, 1855, 1863, and 1888, respectively. After gaining their royal charters in 1955, these institutions merged to establish the University of Exeter UK. As a member of the second wave of municipal universities, it was among the regional universities that came into existence before World War II to get university status in the 1950s. Exeter joined the Russell Group of UK institutions that prioritize research in 2012.
