Leeds Beckett University

(LBU), formerly known as Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU) and before that as Leeds Polytechnic, is a public affordable university in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.

West Yorkshire, England. Leeds Polytechnic was formed in 1970 and was part of the Leeds Local Education Authority until it became an independent Higher Education Corporation on 1 April 1989. The current name was adopted in September 2014. The annual income of the institution for 2016–17 was £221.4 million of which £3.4 million was from grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £217.1 million.

University Admission Requirements

Foundation Program Requirements

Like most universities in the UK, University also offers a foundation degree program.

Students of the Cambridge educational system, he/she must have 5-passes in O levels (Ordinary Level).

For students of non-Cambridge background successful completion of a High Secondary Certificate (Matriculation) with an average of 50% is the minimum requirement.

Bachelor’s

For A-Levels students, the requirement is at least 3 subjects at the Advanced Level. 3Es are the minimum A-Levels requirements in this university.

Students must average 70% in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) or Intermediate Certificate with at least 70% in subjects that are relevant to the intended undergraduate degree program.

Master’s

For P.G programs the candidate must have a 4-year Bachelor’s at least 60% or 2.5 GPA out of 4.0.
Or
2-year Master’s (if Bachelor’s is less than 4 years).

Admission Intake

The University Intakes are in September and January.

1. Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to both U.G & P. in the net amount of £1,000 for every new international student who applies to this university.

2. Merit Scholarship: As the name suggests, this scholarship has worth £1,500 awarded to high achievers. It is awarded to students who have a score of 112 UCAS points. It is awarded for over 3 academic years.

3. Full Fee Discount: Postgraduate students who pay their full tuition fee before or at registration will receive a £1,500 discount.
