ANU PhD Scholarship
About this scholarship
This is a stipend scholarship available by ANU Colleges to higher-degree Research candidates. It is normal for recipients to undertake study on a full-time basis, however, in accordance with strict criteria. The scholarship is accessible for part-time study for Domestic candidates only. International scholars must undertake study on a full-time basis.

These scholarships are available to potential and current students who:
- Are domestic or international students; and
- Have applied for admission to a PhD or Professional Doctorate by Research program; and
- Have a Bachelor degree with first-class honours (some Colleges may consider students with upper second-class honours), or a Master degree with a research component or equivalent from a recognized university.

About this scholarship
A number of ANU Tuition Scholarships are funded and awarded by individual Colleges and determined as part of the application process. This scholarship covers international student tuition fees. It is a Full scholarship.

How to apply
Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the relevant Graduate Studies Convener or a prospective supervisor, prior to lodging an application, to discuss the proposed research topic and related matters.
Further information
It is expected that the scholarship normally will be taken up by 31 March in the year for which it is awarded. Although, subject to the approval of the prospective supervisor, Head of Department, and Dean/Director, a later start date may be possible. The date by which a scholarship must be taken up in a particular instance will be made clear in the formal letter of offer for the scholarship.
ANU College of Science International Joint and Dual Award PhD Scholarship
About this scholarship
Each year the ANU College of Science (‘the College’) may offer a number of awards known as the International Joint and Dual Award PhD Scholarship (‘the Award’).
Funding for this Award has been provided by the ANU College of Science.
The objective of the Award is to provide support and funding for outstanding international candidates. To enable them to pursue an international Institutional Joint or Dual Award Ph.D. program with the following partner institutions:
- Indian Institute of Science (IISc); or
- Indian Institute of Technology – Madras (IITM).

Eligibility
The Award is available each year to a prospective international ANU student who:

No requirement of application for the Award. Eligible students who have applied for the Institutional Joint or Dual Award Ph.D. program within the College of Science will be automatically considered.
