Funding Details of Chevening Scholarship

Chevening Scholarships are fully funded and encompass the following benefits:

The contribution to tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course through the Chevening Scholarship is approximately £18,500. This stipend covers essential living costs, including housing, utilities, food, and local transportation, with £65–86 allocated for utility bills (gas, water, electricity), and £20–40 weekly for both food and commuting expenses. Eligibility for Chevening Scholarship for Pakistani Students

  • Hold citizenship of a Chevening-eligible country (Pakistani citizens are eligible)
  • Commit to returning to their home country for a minimum of two years upon completion of the scholarship
  • Possess an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for entry into a UK postgraduate program, typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree in the UK
  • Apply for a full-time master’s degree program lasting no less or more than 12 months
  • Have a minimum of two years’ (equivalent to 2,800 hours) work experience
  • Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and secure an unconditional offer from one of these options by the application deadline

There is no upper age limit for eligibility for a Chevening award.

  • Programs lasting less than nine months or more than 12 months
  • PhD or MPhil studies
  • Courses that require more than one month of study outside the UK

How to Apply for Chevening Scholarship

Applying for a Chevening scholarship involves the following steps:

  1. Apply for admission to a one-year postgraduate course at a UK university.
  2. Obtain an unconditional acceptance letter from your chosen UK university by meeting their admission criteria and submitting required documents.
  3. Visit the Chevening scholarship application section.
  4. Select your country and level of study, and complete the Chevening scholarship application form.
  5. Apply to up to three UK universities for postgraduate courses related to each other.
  6. Choose the UK university you wish to apply to for postgraduate admission and follow their admission application instructions.

Chevening Scholarship Requirements

After completing a Chevening award, recipients must return to their home country. Requirements for a Chevening scholarship include:

  • An undergraduate bachelor honors degree (four-year duration study program) with academic transcripts
  • A minimum of two years of work experience (five years for Chevening Fellowships)
  • English language proficiency test with required scores (e.g., IELTS/ PTE)
